We, the grandchildren, called him "Daddy Ed".

A small write-up was done by The Journal-Advertiser on Sunday, January 19, 1986. It read as follows:

"Agricultural leader Teague dies

Funeral services for longtime Montgomery resident and agricultural leader C. Edward Teague are scheduled for Monday.

Teague, 77, apparently suffered a heart attack late Friday afternoon while working in the garden behind his Arden Road home, a Montgomery Police Department report showed.

Services for the longtime Montgomery Chamber of Commerce agricultural director have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Leak-Memory Chapel with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

Teague is survived by his daughter Mrs. Linda Huxford and three grandchildren.

He was a native of Danville in Morgan County and was a 1930 Auburn University graduate in agriculture.

Teague attended West Virginia University on a scholarship where he earned his master of science degree in dairy farming in 1932.

In 1935, Teague returned to Alabama where he worked as an assistant county agent in Tuscaloosa County and later, was the county agent for Greene County and then Pickens County.

Teague was the Alabama Cooperative Extension service dairyman from 1944 until 1948.

He then worked as the Alabama agent for the Tennessee Coal and Iron Co. until he joined the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce as agricultural director in 1952.

He most recently had been serving as the secretary of the Montgomery County Cattleman's Association, a position he held since 1955.

Tom Blake, executive vice president of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and a longtime friend of Teague's, said he was "the most beloved man I've ever known. He was the most humble and capable person."

Blake said Teague had been involved with the production of almost every Montgomery County and district dairy and steer show, as well as many others statewide and cattle sales.

Teague served as an official judge for the American Jersey Cattle Club for many years. He judged district and state shows in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Georgia and Tennessee."

His obituary read:

"TEAGUE, C. Ed, 77, a resident of 8 Arden Road, Montgomery, AL, died Friday, January 17, 1986, in Montgomery, AL. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 20, 1986, at 11 a.m. from Leak-Memory Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. William Bell officiating and Leak-Memory Chapel directing. Survivors include one daughters, Mrs. Linda Teague Huxford, Montgomery, AL; three grandchildren, Dusty, Holly and Dane Huxford."

Another article I have in our record book, without referencing where it came from but I believe it came from a Chamber of Commerce publication, reads as follows:

"LONGTIME STAFF MEMBER AND AGRICULTURAL LEADER DIES

C. Ed Teague, retired Chamber agricultural director and an outstanding agricultural leader in the state died of an apparent heart attack while working in his garden on Friday, January 17 at his home on Arden Road.

An obituary for a Mary Teauge was in Mildred's scrapbook, which doesn't give the date or newspaper it is from, reads:

Does anyone know how this Mary may be related to my grandfather?
