"Come away with me, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.

The flowers appear on the earth, and their fragrance fills the land.

Come away and ride with me…" ~Inspired by Song of Solomon

Greetings,

The winter is past and it is time to enjoy the beauty of our world upon the back of a horse. I am pleased to announce that I will be teaching full-time this spring, summer and fall, at Hanna House Bed & Breakfast. Lessons will be offered Wednesday through Saturday. Please let me know your preferred day and time, as I am working on the scheduling. Lessons will officially begin on May 10th.

Some great improvements that Hanna House has made include new footing to the arena, log jumps on the farm, water to the barn, a port-a-potty, and completion of the stalls. KS also has added a new jump course!

Hanna House is a lovely, historic 100 acre farm that will transport you back in time to a slower, gentler way of living.….

See www.hannahousebandb.net.

Angela Nunez enjoyed her first year on the Smith College Equestrian Team. She learned a lot about riding on the intercollegiate hunter circuit and is excited about passing on her newfound knowledge to the KS students. Intercollegiate showing is unique because riders are mounted on horses drawn by lot and provided by the host college so the riders have no idea who they get to ride until the day of the show! Angie thrived in the college atmosphere as she studied and survived her first year at Smith!

Please join KS in congratulating the following students who have purchased new horses this past winter!

Mallory Brenneman on the purchase of "Sarah’s Golden Spirit"

Alicia Cadrette on the purchase of "Testimonial"

Holly Huxford on the purchase of her 16.1hh Bavarian/Westphalian mare, "Rinpoche"

And

Samantha Weaver on the purchase of "Slipped in Silver" (Pippin) from Kindred Spirits. Pippin is beginning an exciting career in eventing.

Kindred Spirits has added two new ponies for lessons.

"Bella" is a gentle flea bitten grey, Quarter Horse mare who adores any attention you would give her. She will carry beginners to advanced riders.

"Before Midnight", now known as "Gentlemen’s Quarterly", (Gent), is a 14.1hh Welsh crossbred gelding who has successfully competed on the "A" horse show circuit on the east coast. He will be for intermediate and advanced riders.

Watch for Lara Schad and Gent on the local show circuit!

Sugar Maple is still available for lessons. KS is excited that Breann Robison will be taking over the reins with Sugar this year on the local show circuit.

Sugar’s 10 yr old daughter, Aspen, and his grandson’s, 3 yr old Will and 2 yr old Snowy are under training with current KS students to be future lesson and show ponies!

KS also has a new addition, Mon Coeur, who is in training for lessons and showing. He is a 17.1 hand Holsteiner cross gelding and we are excited about his potential.

Kindred Spirits has added a new option to its services and that is the ability to lease a horse or pony for the season of May through October. Enjoy the benefits of horse ownership without the expensive purchase price, vet, farrier, dental, deworming bills and board costs. The ability to ride on a consistent basis rapidly improves your skills and riding fitness.

$300. per month gives you the option of 6 riding days (excluding Monday), (in addition to your lessons,) and two horseshows/events per month. Lease option is available May through October and requires a six-month commitment. Advance payment in full, ($1,800) will include winter riding (November through April) without additional charge.

Lessons are reduced for leased horses.

(See rate sheet for details.)
