Mon Coeur

God Bless America

Back to my Home page!

Mon Coeur means My Heart

(in the French language)

I pronounce his name "Mon Koor".

He is a 17.1hh Holsteiner crossbred gelding.

He was born June 20, 2003.

He is young and in training. I have high hopes for this fellow!

(*sigh*)

Mon Coeur.

This used to be his run-in shed. Now he is stall-boarded.

I wish his pasture looked as good now as it did back in 2008 when this pic was taken!

Burning energy off in the Round Pen.

Aww Mom! Turn off the camera for goodness sakes!

WooHoo!! Turned loose in the big arena!

Yes, he's ribby in this picture; 06/07/2008. He lost a lot of weight at a trainers' barn where I sent him in April 2008. Believe it or not, he looks better than he did a month ago when he first got back!

Look at me run now!

Yes, I'm very fast when I want to be!

Ignore my weird mane hairdo. Mom was trying to get my mane to lay on one side instead of two...

Trotting now.

What do you mean "gotta go to work now"?

I'm tired! Didn't you see me running?

Exploring trails.

And another trail.

Wow! I get to go all the way past those fields if I want?

The last picture taken before I came off him that day.

See that big group of trees in the middle of the picture? Well they house some old round hay bale monsters and Mon Coeur didn't like them... so he left me there to fend for myself and galloped two miles home alone!

(*grumble, grumble*)

January 2009 in the outdoor arena.

He's put on more muscle and weight. Looking much better!

A day at Kindred Spirits Horsemanship and Riding Instruction's barn with Mon Coeur and friends.

Injury happened on Saturday. This is Monday after the duct taping incident by the barn owner. Notice severe swelling above injury.

I hand walked him and did massage on the area for about an hour to try to get the swelling to go down.

My first attempt at a 'stacked bandage wrapping' session.

My vet's very fine 'stacked bandage wrapping' example.

In fact, this bandage stays on for five days! Great wrapping!

Stacked bandage comes off. Fur does some sloughing off too.

Not pretty at all.

Bandage has stayed off for two days. Looking a bit better but now the lower leg has some swelling and heat to it.
