"Peter Huxford was born June 4th, 1791 and married Sarah Garlington, daughter of Joseph Garlington, and they had one son, Peter Huxford, Jr. The elder Huxford never united with any church until about 1832 or 1835 when he joined Mt. Olvitt Church (Baptist) and was baptized by Rev. Daniel Sheppard. He served many years as deacon and was subsequently called to the gospel ministry. He died in 1863 of heart disease. He is buried on the old family burying ground with his father Harlock and brother, Samuel, and two sisters Jumima and Elizabeth." (Source 3)

"Peter Huxford, Sr., a son of Harlock was a most excellent man from his youth up, but never united with any church until sometime about 1832 or 1835. It was through the untiring effords of that most excellent of women, his sister Jumina Harvey, that he was brought to embrace the religion of Jesus (Bless God for a good sister). He was baptized by that Isrealite indeed, the Rev. Daniel Sheppard, them pastor of Mt. Olvitt, and shortly after called to the deaconship of the church, in which capacity he served for several years, after which he was ordained to the gospels ministry. A man of great patience and extremely gentle in his manner."

"The Rev. Peter Huxford, Sr., departed this life in 1863, aged about seventy-two years. He died of heart disease, his illness was short. His body rests in the family burying ground with his father Harlock and brother Samuel, also his sister Jumina and Elizabeth at Mt. Olvitt Baptist Church. These two sisters were members of the Mt. Olvitt Church." (Source 2)
